Behavioural Ecology of fungi
What is considered a behaviour in fungi, and can we study the behavioural ecology of fungal species and mycelial networks?
Fungal interactions
In this project, we explore how biotic interactions and sensory stimuli affect fungal behaviour using microfluidic chip set-ups and collembola.
Fungal decision making
In this project, we are challenging and studying hyphal decision making in arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi using microfluidic chip set-ups, various host plant systems and myristate medium.
Soundscapes of fungi
In this project we are exploring the soundscape of soil fungi, and whether it affects fungal behaviour.
Fungal domestication
This project is a collaboration with Dr Jonathan Shik where we are looking at differences in foraging strategies between fungi known to be more or less domesticated by ants.
Fungal persistence
This project focuses on understanding variation in hyphal persistance between fungal species, and explores whether this could be explained by their ecology.
