The SOUND+PURPOSE conference started off with a big snowstorm and brought together an international crowd of people from very diverse fields, all working with sound in one way or another. We were encouraged to be curious and open to each other's research, and I think it was a very open-minded group of people that wanted to learn about new things. I presented in the session "Understanding ecological change through sound" which included contributions from researchers working with underground ecoacoustics, underwater sounds in times of change, and the sounds of wetlands. I also ran into Karis Shearer, whom I knew from my old university UBC-O in Canada, which was really nice. All in all, a well-organized meeting by The Sound Centre at Lund University and the SOUND+ network.
