New BECC Project: Urban Fungi

Thanks to a grant from BECC, Dimitrios Floudas, Anna Persson, and I will be starting up a BECC action group, focusing on urban fungi. Our project will be based in Malmö, Sweden, and in November, we will organize a workshop together with city officials and other local partners to discuss and explore fungal diversity and ecosystem services in the city.

As part of the project, we are also looking for a master's student at Lund University, interested in sampling fungal diversity in the city and working together with us to explore and communicate the role of fungal diversity in urban ecosystems.
